Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh

Here is my interpretation of Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh. Before we did this project we studied aout Vincent Van Gogh's artwork as well as his life. This helped us to understand more about the artist before we took on his work for ourselves. We then got paper and red, yellow, and blue paint. This painting was all done with our fingers. I would have students bring a paint shirt or apron for this activity.
I would do a similar project in my classroom, but for an older grade. They would all get a list of artists to choose from and research. They will need to research and find a painting that they would like to do their interpretation of. Once that have determined that they will get their paper and paint. They will be provided different kinds of brushes but are welcome to use their fingers. Once the projects are done each student will present their work of art to the class. They will tell us about their artist and their painting.
